Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reached a resolution regarding their dispute over their shared Miraval estate.
The estate, located in southern France, spans 990 acres and has been a significant topic of contention since their separation. Pitt recently visited the property with his partner, Ines de Ramon, during a break in his movie production due to an actors’ strike.
The seven-year legal battle between Pitt and Jolie has encompassed both custody and financial disagreements. However, the parties have now arrived at a mutual agreement. Jolie agreed to mediation concerning the Miraval lawsuit, which came about due to Pitt’s allegations that Jolie intentionally sold her part of the business, valued at $164 million.
Their financial dispute largely revolved around the estate, the venue of their 2014 wedding. Originally, Pitt had proposed a $54.5 million payment for Jolie’s share, but this offer faced challenges owing to ongoing custody discussions.
Amidst various legal claims and responses, external entities became part of the issue, adding layers of complexity. The rising legal costs influenced Jolie’s decision to seek a compromise. The details of their settlement might see Jolie retaining main custody of their underage children, while Pitt might obtain full ownership of Miraval with a supposed payment of $250 million.
With this legal chapter nearing its end, Pitt is looking forward to moving past these longstanding issues, focusing on his relationship with his children, and putting the extensive legal battles behind him.
