Gangster Hid His Murder Victims in Cemetery Crypt

A 51-year-old motorcycle gangster has been convicted of first-degree murder and corpse abuse, among other charges.

The conviction stems from the 2017 killing of David Rossillo Jr., a prospective member of the Warlocks biker gang.

Representing himself in court, Michael DiMauro’s guilt was established through cooperating witnesses and rapid jury deliberation.

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office disclosed that DiMauro’s actions unfolded at Mount Moriah Cemetery in southwest Philadelphia. Prosecutors detailed how, following an undisclosed altercation, DiMauro shot 33-year-old Rossillo.

He then allegedly employed a rope to move Rossillo’s body to an open crypt, previously forced open by a vehicle. In the crypt was another victim, identified as Keith Palumbo, 36, a Warlocks gang member and musician from Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

Assistant District Attorney Robert Wainwright commended the diligent efforts of now-retired Philadelphia Police Detective Joe Bamberski, whose work played a pivotal role in solving the case.

Additionally, two cooperating witnesses provided crucial evidence that implicated DiMauro in the crime. District Attorney (DA) Larry Krasner, underscoring his commitment to resolving cold cases, acknowledged that the motives behind both murders remain unknown.

The jury’s prompt delivery of the guilty verdict underscores the gravity of DiMauro’s actions. Pending sentencing, Judge Charles Ehrlich is expected to impose a life sentence without the possibility of parole this month.

The convictions of both DiMauro and another gang member, Michael DeLuca, who previously pleaded guilty to Palumbo’s murder, send a clear message that justice will prevail, even in cases shrouded in secrecy.

In a statement, DA Krasner emphasized that these convictions serve as a clear warning: anyone attempting to commit murder and cover it up will be caught and justice will be served for the victims.
