7-Year-Old Dies Shortly After Inhaling Limestone Powder

A seven-year-old boy lost his life on August 3 shortly after innocently playing in a mound of limestone powder at a construction site.

A final photograph of the young boy shows him cheerfully giving a thumbs-up gesture while seated amidst the pile of powder.

The child, Arthur Emanuel, driven by curiosity, found himself drawn to the mound of limestone powder near his family’s home in Ipiranga, Parana, Brazil.

His family raced him to a medical facility, but he died upon arrival.

Arthur’s family chose to share the photograph on social media, turning their tragedy into a cautionary tale.

Limestone powder, a staple of construction and agriculture, must be handled with care using protective equipment.
