Popular Singer Dead at 27

On January 28, 2026, the talent agency Panic Button announced the death of Mo Su-jin, lead vocalist for South Korean band Acoustic Collabo, three days after her passing. Mo was 27 at the time of her death.

The agency did not reveal the cause of Mo’s death. “Mo Su-jin, the vocalist of Acoustic Collabo, passed away on the 25th,” the agency confirmed, adding, “Her family is deeply grieved by the sudden and tragic news.”

In respect to the family’s wishes, specific details surrounding Mo’s death are being kept private. The public has been asked to refrain from spreading speculation and rumors. A private funeral service, attended by only family, close friends, and relatives, was conducted on January 28, 2026, at Eden Memorial Park in Namyangju at 10:30 a.m.

Mo, born in 1999, initially trained to be an idol before becoming the third vocalist for Acoustic Collabo. She later took the role of lead vocalist, sharing the position with Kim Seung-jae.

Acoustic Collabo, which evolved through multiple vocalists over the years, released their third full-length album “Good to Be with You” with Mo Su-jin and Kim Seung-jae, highlighting Mo’s exceptional talent.

In 2022, a legal disagreement arose between the band and their former management company. The conflict was resolved in 2024 when the Seoul Central District Court ruled in the band’s favor.

After resolving the legal issues, Acoustic Collabo made a comeback in 2025 and signed an exclusive contract with the Panic Button agency. Mo also launched her solo career, releasing the single “Your Universe” in June 2025.

Panic Button’s official statement following Mo’s death reiterated the family’s request for privacy, asking that the cause of death and other specific details remain undisclosed.

News of Mo’s death was reported by local publications ONSEN and Korea JoongAng Daily and quickly spread through social media and entertainment industry channels after Panic Button’s official announcement.

The band’s album “Good to Be with You,” showcased Mo’s vocal prowess that she honed during her early career and training.

Mo Su-jin and Kim Seung-jae’s partnership as lead vocalists played a crucial role in defining the sound of Acoustic Collabo.

Mo’s association with the band started when she shared a cover of “It’s Strange, With You” on social media, using a hashtag. Unbeknownst to her, the band was holding auditions. Her video caught the attention of company officials, and after a successful audition, Mo was selected over nearly 1,600 other applicants to become Acoustic Collabo’s third-generation vocalist.

Besides her work with the band, Mo also pursued a solo career under the stage name “Clau:D,” releasing songs including “Flight” and “Your Universe.”

After her death, access to Mo’s Instagram account and YouTube videos was temporarily restricted before being restored on January 29. A cat, believed to be Mo’s pet, also had its social media account set to private.
