Beloved TV Star Dead at 34

Cass Lacelle, who appeared on Freeform’s “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise,” died on Feb. 11, 2026, after battling ovarian cancer. She was 34 years old.

Her family and friends announced her death on Instagram, sharing that she had passed away following her struggle with the disease.

Lacelle discovered she had a rare form of ovarian cancer in May 2025. She required emergency surgery to remove a tumor and subsequently went through three rounds of chemotherapy, completing her initial treatment by late summer of that year.

The cancer eventually returned in a more aggressive form. On Jan. 4, 2026, she notified her followers about the recurrence. “My cancer is back and this time around is aggressive; it has metastasized to my liver, stomach, abdominal lining, and omentum,” she wrote.

Her confirmed diagnosis was mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare cancer variant.

In the months preceding her death, Lacelle’s health declined quickly. She told her followers she had not experienced a day without pain since mid-November 2025. She was hospitalized on Dec. 6, 2025, and stayed there until she passed away.

The Instagram message revealing her death was signed by Bianca Mora, Meg Chandler, Ella, and Kylie Nicholls, who had supported her throughout her illness.

“Cass leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured,” the announcement read, acknowledging the deep impact she had on the people around her.

Lacelle became known to audiences through her appearance on “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise,” which premiered on Freeform in 2024. The 10-episode series followed locals as they navigated relationships and professional challenges on the island.

The series showcased life on Grand Cayman, the largest island in the Cayman Islands, and featured cast members including Chelsea Flynn, Aaron Bernardo, Julian Foster, TV personality and entrepreneur Elizabeth Chambers, and model/producer Selita Ebanks. Chambers is widely recognized as the ex-wife of actor Armie Hammer.

Following the public announcement of her passing, former cast members expressed their grief. Foster posted a tribute, while Flynn and Bernardo also shared emotional messages, highlighting the meaningful relationships she formed both on and off the show.

The tribute concluded with a heartfelt message calling Lacelle “Fireheart,” a nickname that symbolized her strength and passion.

Her death was revealed five days after she passed, allowing her closest loved ones time to mourn privately before sharing the news. Posting the announcement on her own Instagram account enabled the community that had supported her to learn of her passing in the space where she had shared her story.

The reality TV community, especially those connected to Freeform, deeply felt her loss. While “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise” represented just one chapter of her life, her openness about her battle with cancer in her final months created another lasting legacy—one that highlighted the challenges of the disease and the importance of a strong support system.

Her passing leaves behind relatives, friends, and a broad community of supporters who followed her journey from her reality TV beginnings to her final fight with cancer. Those who knew her say her authenticity and willingness to share her struggles made a lasting impression far beyond her television career.
