Barron Trump, the 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, has made news for embarking on business ventures while pursuing his education at New York University.
Recently, the youngest Trump became a partner in Sollos Yerba Mate Inc., a new beverage firm, where he is named among the five directors. The company was incorporated in Delaware on December 3, 2025, and subsequently registered in Florida in January 2026, near the family’s Mar-a-Lago estate. The company, which promotes itself as a “lifestyle beverage brand built around clean + functional ingredients”, has raised $1 million in capital through private placement and emphasizes yerba mate, a caffeinated herbal tea widely consumed in South America.
Business is not new to Barron. In July 2024, he and two business associates launched Trump, Fulcher & Roxburgh Capital Inc. in Wyoming. His partners included Cameron Roxburgh, a high school peer from the esteemed Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, and Carter Fulcher, a luxury real estate specialist who heads an Idaho-based company.
The company was dissolved on November 14, 2024, just over a week after Donald Trump’s presidential election victory. According to Roxburgh in an interview with Newsweek, they opted to dissolve the company to eschew media attention following the election. However, Roxburgh later told Fox Business, “As of now, the company will not be relaunched.”
“Barron wants to follow in his dad’s footsteps,” a political source informed PEOPLE.
The eldest son, who will turn 20 next month, is currently a student at NYU. After completing his freshman year at NYU’s Stern School of Business in Manhattan, New York, Barron transferred to NYU’s D.C. campus in September 2025. The campus, which houses up to 120 students, is located just blocks away from the White House, where he now lives.
A source close to the Trump family told PEOPLE that Barron has embraced an entrepreneurial mindset. “He is interested in business in general, developing properties, making money and being involved in successful projects,” the source said. “He has his own ideas and understands what people of his age are looking for.”
Barron’s business ambitions were evident during his father’s successful 2024 campaign, where he played a key role in engaging younger voters. He suggested podcast appearances, including on the influential Joe Rogan Experience, and digital media strategies that resonated with his generation. At a 2025 inauguration event, President Trump acknowledged his son’s suggestion for the Rogan appearance, which reportedly helped him win.
Beyond the beverage industry, Barron is also recognized as a co-founder of World Liberty Financial, the Trump family’s cryptocurrency firm. Steve Witkoff, a real estate investor with ties to the president, saw Barron’s involvement as an opportunity to provide him with valuable business experience, according to The New York Times.
However, some have expressed concern about Barron’s business activities. A political source pointed out that any business associated with the Trump name and operating near the White House potentially carries inherent challenges. The source highlighted the possibility of conflicts of interest for the president if Barron’s ventures are not closely monitored, as they will always “sell access” due to his family name and connection to the administration.
Unlike his older siblings, who have long been part of the Trump Organization, Barron is forging his own way while still in college. Sources say First Lady Melania Trump will back her son’s entrepreneurial aspirations while continuing to watch over him.
Barron has not publicly commented on his business pursuits, preserving the relatively low profile he has maintained throughout his father’s political tenure. Despite being the son of a current president, he continues to attend classes at NYU’s D.C. campus while quietly laying the foundations of his business career. His growing portfolio includes beverages, real estate aspirations, and cryptocurrency, solidifying him as a young entrepreneur carrying the Trump name.
