Jim Curtis, a wellness coach and hypnotherapist currently in a relationship with Jennifer Aniston, recently shared insights about their bond on the TODAY show on January 26, 2026, and also discussed his upcoming book.
During his conversation with host Craig Melvin, Curtis, aged 50, revealed that he met Aniston, 56, through mutual friends. “We found out that we had mutual friends, and we started to just chat,” Curtis explained.
Curtis, an expert in health and wellness, indicated that their relationship evolved over time as they communicated extensively before getting close. On being questioned about the duration of their relationship, Curtis disclosed that they had been together for nearly a year.
In the course of the interview, Melvin noted that Curtis seemed to blush while talking about his relationship with the actress. Curtis confirmed this observation, admitting that he was indeed blushing as he discussed Aniston.
Their relationship first caught public attention in July 2025, following rumors about their romance. Curtis was subsequently seen at The Morning Show Season 4 premiere, lending his support to Aniston. The relationship was acknowledged publicly on Instagram in November 2025 when Aniston posted a photograph featuring Curtis.
In the November Instagram post, Aniston captioned the picture, “Happy birthday, my love. Cherished,” publicly acknowledging their bond for the first time. The couple had been previously spotted with friends, including Jason Bateman, Amanda Anka, and Amy Schumer, in Mallorca, Spain.
The couple made their first official public appearance at the ELLE Women in Hollywood event on November 17, 2025. This appearance followed Aniston’s comments about Curtis in an ELLE magazine interview published on November 12, in which she described Curtis’ work as a hypnotherapist and called him very special.
At the ELLE event, actor Adam Sandler, who has worked with Aniston on multiple occasions, addressed the couple in his speech, expressing his happiness for them. Following Aniston’s birthday post for Curtis, Reese Witherspoon, her co-star in The Morning Show, commented that she loved this love story.
Curtis continued to celebrate their relationship, posting a picture with Aniston on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2026, marking another milestone in their public relationship.
During his appearance on the TODAY show, Curtis also spoke about his upcoming book, The Book of Possibility, set to be published in September 2026, which will offer readers a glimpse into his wellness practices and methods of helping people.
Before his career in health and wellness, Curtis worked on Wall Street during the 1990s. He shifted his focus to wellness and healing following his diagnosis of spinal lesions at the age of 22.
During the summer of 1995, after his freshman year at the University of New Hampshire, Curtis woke up with numbness in his left foot that gradually spread to his thigh. An MRI revealed lesions on his spinal cord, but despite consultations with neurologists at top hospitals, including the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins, doctors were unable to diagnose the exact cause of his condition.
The mysterious illness left Curtis battling severe symptoms, including muscle spasms, chronic pain, paralysis, and a persistent limp. He was fitted with a PICC line—a catheter delivering powerful medications directly to his bloodstream—and relied on a motorcycle to navigate campus as he pushed through to complete his degree. “That was the point at which my story changed from frat guy-athlete to something else,” Curtis later recalled in an interview with UNH Today.
His subsequent career on Wall Street proved particularly challenging for someone managing a chronic spinal condition. “It couldn’t have been a worse choice,” Curtis admitted in a 2018 Fast Company interview. “I had to stand up in a crowd all day. It was super high-stress, which is inflammatory and devastating for a condition like mine.” The stress exacerbated his symptoms and brought on additional complications, including irritable bowel syndrome.
Curtis continues to manage his condition today, walking with a noticeable limp and occasionally using a cane for support. Rather than allowing the illness to define him negatively, he transformed his experience into his life’s mission.
With over two decades of experience in health and wellness, Curtis has developed expertise in hypnotherapy and transformational coaching. His approach is centered on helping individuals navigate trauma, overcome mental barriers, and find clarity in their lives.
For Aniston, this is her first public romantic relationship since her divorce from Justin Theroux in 2018. Before Theroux, she was married to Brad Pitt. Aniston’s public acknowledgment of her relationship with Curtis marks a change from her usually private personal life. Their shared values around wellness and personal growth seem to be at the heart of the couple’s connection.
His approach aligns with the broader cultural trend emphasizing mental health, self-care, and holistic wellness. The growing acceptance of practices like hypnotherapy indicates a shift in attitudes toward mental health treatment, with more individuals seeking alternatives to traditional therapy.
As Curtis prepares for the release of The Book of Possibility in September, his relationship with Aniston continues to draw public curiosity. The combination of his expertise in wellness and his relationship with a prominent Hollywood actress places him at the intersection of celebrity culture and the wellness industry.
