Famous Actor’s Daughter Located Dead

The daughter of Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones, Victoria Jones, 34, was discovered dead at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California, on New Year’s Day, as confirmed by the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Emergency services were alerted to a medical emergency at the hotel at 2:52 AM on Jan. 1, and upon their arrival, they found Victoria Jones unresponsive. She was declared dead at the scene.

Local law enforcement arrived at approximately 3:14 AM, following the paramedics. By then, Victoria had been declared deceased. The investigation was handed over to the San Francisco Police Department and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

TMZ reports that a witness informed first responders that Jones had taken cocaine in the hours leading up to her death. With that information, what initially appeared to be a routine medical issue quickly shifted toward a suspected overdose. When paramedics arrived, they saw a bluish tint on Victoria’s lips and fingertips — a telltale indication of oxygen loss. Their concern rose immediately as they realized this was far from a standard medical collapse. Law enforcement has indicated a suspected overdose, though this has not been officially confirmed by the Medical Examiner.

The deceased was officially identified as Victoria Jones by the Medical Examiner, and her immediate family was informed. The Fairmont Hotel extended its condolences to the grieving family through a public statement.

Born Victoria Kafka Jones in 1991, she was the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. The pair also has a son, Austin Jones, who is currently 43. Tommy Lee Jones, now 79, has had a long and illustrious career in Hollywood.

Victoria followed her father’s path into acting, making her film debut in “Men in Black II” in 2002, where she acted alongside her father. She also appeared in a 2005 episode of the TV series “One Tree Hill”.

In 2005, she acted in “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada,” a film directed by her father. Her stepmother, Dawn Laurel-Jones, was also involved in the project as the film’s stills photographer. Her last acting role was in “The Homesman” in 2014, a film in which her father also starred and directed.

Court documents show that Victoria Jones faced legal issues in the months leading up to her death. She was arrested in Napa County and Santa Cruz County, California, in 2025 on charges including drug possession, domestic battery, resisting arrest, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The arrests were separate incidents that took place over the course of 2025.

Victoria and her father were occasionally spotted together at public events and red carpet affairs. She maintained ties to the entertainment industry through her family.

The San Francisco Police Department is encouraging anyone with information about Victoria Jones’ death to come forward as they continue their investigation. The Medical Examiner’s Office announced that further examinations will be conducted to ascertain the official cause and manner of death.

The family released a statement on Jan. 2, 2026, expressing gratitude for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers they had received. They also requested privacy during this challenging time. The statement was signed “The Family of Victoria Kafka Jones.”

Victoria leaves behind her father, Tommy Lee Jones, her mother Kimberlea Cloughley, her brother Austin Jones, and her stepmother Dawn Laurel-Jones.
