Comedy Star Dies at 62

Jayne Trcka, a well-known actress and bodybuilder famous for her role as Miss Mann in the comedy “Scary Movie” (2000), passed away on December 12 in San Diego, California, at the age of 62.

According to TMZ, a concerned friend found Trcka unresponsive in her kitchen after several days of unanswered calls. The friend immediately called 911, and upon arrival, first responders pronounced Trcka dead.

The San Diego Medical Examiner has confirmed her death, with the cause still under investigation. Trcka’s son revealed to the New York Post that he wasn’t aware of any health issues that could have caused his mother’s death. The examiner disclosed signs of trauma on the body but didn’t provide a cause of death at this point.

Jayne Marie Trcka, born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, initially pursued gymnastics before finding her life’s passion in fitness and bodybuilding. In 1986, she relocated to Southern California and by 1988, she started participating in bodybuilding competitions.

Trcka’s commitment to bodybuilding grew as she ascended the ranks of the sport. At 34, she won the California State Championships in 1997, a remarkable feat in a sport that demands years of rigorous training and strict nutrition. In 1998, she competed in the NPC Junior Nationals, further demonstrating her dedication to the sport.

Trcka made a significant career decision in 1998 when she left her job at the postal service to focus on fitness full-time. She started working as a personal trainer, using her passion to assist others in achieving their fitness goals while maintaining her competitive edge. As she stated on her website, she turned her “hobby and love for fitness” into a career.

Trcka’s remarkable physique and success in competitions caught the attention of fitness magazines, leading to her features in Flex magazine, MuscleMag International, and Women’s Physique World. She became an icon of female bodybuilding during its rise to mainstream popularity.

Trcka’s acting debut came in 2000 with “Scary Movie,” where she played the androgynous gym teacher, Miss Mann. The role, though minor, was memorable and left an impact in the cult comedy that parodied famed horror films.
