Barron Trump’s Name Surfaces in Shocking New Buzz

The 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump could soon find himself in a powerful position at one of America’s most influential social media platforms, according to a proposal from the president’s former social media manager.

Jack Advent, nicknamed “TikTok Jack” by Trump during the 2024 campaign, suggested that Barron Trump should be considered for a position on TikTok’s board of directors as the platform transitions to American ownership. The proposal comes after Trump signed an executive order on September 25, 2025, clearing the way for U.S. investors to operate the platform previously owned by the Chinese company ByteDance.

Advent told the Daily Mail that he hopes the president will consider appointing his son and other young Americans to help ensure the app remains appealing to its primary demographic. The 22-year-old former social media producer emphasized that young people represent the overwhelming majority of TikTok’s user base.

The suggestion follows Trump’s triumphant return to TikTok on Monday, October 6, 2025, when he posted a video from the Oval Office that garnered more than six million views within hours. In the video, Trump declared that he had saved the platform and told young users they owed him for keeping it available in the United States.

Barron Trump has not publicly commented on the proposal. The youngest Trump son currently resides at the White House while attending classes at New York University’s Washington, D.C. campus for his sophomore year, having transferred from the New York City campus.

The first son played a crucial role in his father’s 2024 presidential campaign success, particularly in reaching younger voters through strategic media appearances. According to senior campaign advisor Jason Miller, Barron recommended numerous podcasts that proved highly successful, including appearances on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive,” and “This Past Weekend with Theo Von.”

First Lady Melania Trump credited her son’s deep understanding of his generation during a December appearance on Fox & Friends. She explained that Barron brought in many young people because he understands that his generation consumes media differently than previous ones, primarily through tablets, phones, podcasts, and streaming platforms rather than traditional television.

The president’s relationship with TikTok has evolved significantly since his first administration, when he initially sought to ban the platform over national security concerns. The app faced a potential ban under legislation signed by former President Joe Biden in April 2024, which required ByteDance to reduce its stake to 20 percent or face prohibition in the United States.

Trump’s executive order requires majority American ownership of the platform, with approximately 65 percent controlled by U.S. investors and less than 20 percent remaining with ByteDance and other Chinese stakeholders. The deal involves a seven-seat board of directors and requires the platform to be operated entirely within the United States.

Several prominent American business figures are expected to participate in the ownership transfer. Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, worth nearly $350 billion, is anticipated to lead the investor group alongside venture capitalist Marc Andreessen and private equity firm Silver Lake. Media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell are also expected to join as shareholders.

Vice President JD Vance also returned to the platform this week, announcing that under the new arrangement, TikTok’s algorithm will be controlled by American investors rather than Chinese entities. The transition represents a significant shift in the platform’s governance structure while maintaining its popular features.

Advent praised the president’s efforts to preserve the platform, stating that Trump delivered on his promise to save TikTok and the millions of Americans who operate businesses and receive news through the app. The former campaign staffer became synonymous with Trump’s TikTok presence after helping orchestrate the president’s debut on the platform at UFC 302 in June 2024.

Trump’s initial TikTok video, introduced by UFC CEO Dana White, generated over 180 million views and marked the largest political launch in the platform’s history. Advent said, “I’m hopeful President Trump will consider appointing his son Barron.”

The proposal reflects broader Republican efforts to celebrate the deal and differentiate their approach from the previous administration’s handling of the platform. Former White House deputy press secretary Harrison Fields noted that Biden was prepared to allow the platform to end without pursuing alternative solutions, while Trump demonstrated leadership by facilitating an ownership transfer.
