Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff, a well-known actress and former spouse of “Baywatch” star David Hasselhoff, was discovered dead in her Hollywood Hills, California residence on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She was 62.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has determined that Bach-Hasselhoff’s death was a suicide, resulting from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Authorities did not find a note at the scene.
Family members, unable to contact Bach-Hasselhoff for several days, decided to check on her, according to multiple sources. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at the residence around 10 p.m. on Wednesday night.
“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” David Hasselhoff, 72, expressed in a statement. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time, but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”
According to a statement from a neighbor, Hiromi Osiecki, one of Bach-Hasselhoff’s daughters, believed to be Hayley Hasselhoff, 32, found her mother’s body and was reportedly “hysterical, yelling, screaming, crying on the street” afterward.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bach-Hasselhoff’s acting career began in the 1970s. Her first major film role was in the Francis Ford Coppola film “Rumble Fish.” Throughout her career, she made appearances in a variety of television shows, including “The Young and the Restless,” “Cheers,” “The Fall Guy,” “T.J. Hooker,” “Superboy,” and “Viper.”
Bach-Hasselhoff is perhaps most recognized for her role as Kaye Morgan on the television series “Baywatch,” where she performed in 14 episodes over a decade. She also portrayed several other characters on the popular lifeguard drama series.
She first met David Hasselhoff on the set of “Knight Rider” in 1985 when she made a guest appearance. The two married in December 1989 following Hasselhoff’s divorce from his first wife, Catherine Hickland. During their 17-year union, they had two daughters, Taylor Ann, 34, and Hayley Amber, 32.
Their 2006 divorce was fraught with controversy, with Bach-Hasselhoff alleging domestic abuse by Hasselhoff, a claim he denied. Legal disputes over spousal support payments continued until 2017. Post-divorce, each parent was granted custody of one of their daughters.
Sharon Kelly, Bach-Hasselhoff’s agent, described her as a “force of nature” and a “proud mama” to her two daughters. Kelly expressed her shock over Bach-Hasselhoff’s sudden passing, and sent her condolences to the family.
Her last social media post on New Year’s Eve 2024 revealed her joy in her family, especially her granddaughter London, born in August 2024 to her daughter Taylor and son-in-law Madison Fiore.
Following the announcement of her death, fans expressed their condolences on social media. Her daughter Hayley posted a tribute to her mother by reposting a throwback picture of her parents from 1996 on her Instagram Stories.
Despite her divorce, Bach-Hasselhoff continued to use the Hasselhoff surname professionally and maintained an active online presence, often sharing posts about her daughters and granddaughter.
Bach-Hasselhoff also participated in the UK reality show “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2011, further expanding her public profile beyond her acting roles. David Hasselhoff remarried in 2018 to model Hayley Roberts, while Bach-Hasselhoff remained single since their divorce.
Bach-Hasselhoff’s acting career spanned over five decades, starting with her first role as a child actor in 1973. Her work on “Baywatch” and “Knight Rider” remains her most recognized.
She is survived by her two daughters, Taylor and Hayley, and her granddaughter, London.
