Trump Daughter-in-Law is Back at Fox News

Starting February 22, 2025, Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, and wife to Eric Trump, will be the host of a new primetime weekend program on Fox News Channel. “My View with Lara Trump” will be broadcast every Saturday from 9-10 PM ET.

In a statement regarding her return to the network, Lara Trump said, “I’m thrilled to bring my voice back to Fox News, talk directly with the American people, and highlight what makes this country so great.”

Suzanne Scott, the CEO of Fox News Media, praised Trump as “a gifted communicator who knows how to connect to the viewers, successful entrepreneur, and working mother,” who possesses an “innate understanding of the American public and today’s political landscape.” Scott stated that Trump’s perspective would make a compelling addition to the weekend lineup.

The focus of the program will be “the return of common sense to all corners of American life as the country ushers in a new era of practicality.” The show will include analysis of big-picture issues and interviews with influential figures, particularly focusing on the topics affecting families across the nation.

Lara Trump’s previous media roles include serving as a Fox News contributor from 2021 to 2022, and hosting the web series “The Right View” since 2020. She also has experience working as a producer for “Inside Edition.”

This appointment is significant as it is the first time an immediate family member of a sitting president has hosted their own show on a major television news network during the president’s term. Previous instances of presidential relatives in television include Jenna Bush Hager’s role on NBC’s “Today” show and Chelsea Clinton’s work at NBC News, both of which took place after their fathers’ terms had ended.

Trump has a comprehensive political background. She served as a senior advisor to Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign and led the “Women for Trump” initiative. In December 2024, she stepped down as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, stating that the “job I came to do is now complete.” Earlier in 2024, she was considered as a potential replacement for Marco Rubio in the Senate but withdrew her name from consideration.

Trump also has a presence in the music industry. In September 2023, she released a cover of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down,” which made it to the top 10 on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart. She followed this with an original song, “Hero,” in 2024.

“My View with Lara Trump” will replace “One Nation with Brian Kilmeade,” which will be moved to Sundays at 10 p.m. ET. Fox News continues to dominate cable news ratings, recording its highest-rated January since its inception in 1996. The network has maintained strong ties with the Trump administration, serving as the former president’s preferred outlet for mainstream media interviews during his 2024 campaign.
