Social Media Makes Big Fuss About Trump’s “New” Hairdo

During a recent appearance at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, President-elect Donald Trump appeared to debut a new hairstyle, generating substantial attention.

At 78, the president-elect has replaced his iconic voluminous and orange-tinted hairstyle with a significantly more flattering style.

Trump was filmed by pro-Trump influencer Michael Solakiewicz while greeting supporters in a branded polo shirt and his new hairstyle. “Is everybody having a good time?” Trump asked the crowd, before jokingly adding, “Is everybody a Republican?”

His new appearance has led to comparisons with his youngest son, Barron Trump, who recently started his college career at New York University in New York City. Barron, who turned 18 in March 2024, has kept a sleek, classic hairstyle throughout his teenage years.

Trump has altered his signature look before. He was seen in 2019 with slicked-back hair during a church visit in Virginia. His ex-stylist has revealed that Trump takes care of his own hair. His hair-cutting and coloring needs are reportedly met by family members, rather than professional hairdressers.

Trump has consistently asserted that his hair is authentic. On social media in 2013, he wrote: “As everybody knows, but the haters and losers refuse to acknowledge, I do not wear a ‘wig.’ My hair may not be perfect but it’s mine.”

According to Gwenda Blair’s book about the Trump family, Donald’s father, Fred Christ Trump, was known for coloring his hair red with tinges of magenta in his later years and wore his hair longer than was typical for men in the 1940s.

Trump’s new hairstyle has drawn a range of responses on social media platforms. Some critics have likened Trump to “an angry grandpa at a country club,” while others have shown appreciation, saying they would request the “Trump 2025 look” at their next hairdresser appointment.

There were varied reactions to his new look, with some people asking, “What did they do to his hair?” while others compared his appearance to other political figures.

A supporter commented, “I Like it! Trump is always willing to try new things!”

Some attempted to rationalize the change in appearance. “People, he just played a round of golf with a hat on. Hats do that to hair. Not a new look. Guaranteed,” one person suggested.

Another agreed, referring to it as “the ultimate hat hair.”

Trump’s distinctive hairstyle has been a topic of public interest throughout his career, from his early days in real estate to his presidency. In a 2011 Rolling Stone interview, he addressed claims of wearing a combover, maintaining that he had been styling his hair the same way for years.
