Man Beaten To Death With His Own Golf Clubs

A tragic incident occurred at the Sandhill Crane Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on November 25, 2024, when a 65-year-old golfer was murdered using his own clubs and subsequently drowned in a pond. Authorities identified the victim as Brian Hiltebeitel, a local resident and avid golfer.

The assailant, 36-year-old Junior Boucher, faced charges of first-degree murder. Eyewitnesses reported hearing Hiltebeitel cry out, “He’s trying to kill me,” as Boucher pursued him with a golf club. The pursuit ended at the first hole, where Boucher reportedly chased Hiltebeitel into a pond. Witnesses recount a struggle in the water, where Boucher seemed to choke Hiltebeitel before hitting him multiple times in the head with a golf club.

Upon arrival at the scene, authorities found Boucher, naked and attempting to escape. They used an electronic control device to subdue him and took him into custody. Hiltebeitel was found in the pond with critical head injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Dominick Pape, the Palm Beach Gardens Police Chief, stated, “At this time, it does not appear that Boucher had any legitimate purpose for being at the golf course. This appears to be a random act of violence where Boucher used the victim’s golf clubs as weapons.”

Boucher, with a history of arrests including domestic battery and drug possession, is currently being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities yet to find any previous link between Boucher and Hiltebeitel.

Boucher’s family reported him missing approximately an hour before the attack. According to court documents, his family had filed an eviction notice earlier that day to have him removed from their home.

Hiltebeitel’s friends and fellow golfers remember him as a generous individual, always ready to help out when needed.

Hiltebeitel’s girlfriend, Dina Lauro, described him as “such a good, good person. He was exciting to be with, always in a good mood, never depressed, wake up happy.” Dina’s mother, Nancy Lauro, shared that Dina recently said she had never been so happy and that Brian brought joy to their lives, calling him the best person they had ever known.

Dina conveyed her present emotions as numb, stating that she is managing by taking it moment by moment, which she says is her plan for now.
