Bride-to-Be Dies While Delivering Wedding Invitations

A mechanical malfunction from a passing truck resulted in a fatal motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a 24-year-old bride-to-be in Guatemala and left her fiancé critically injured. The tragic incident occurred mere days before their scheduled wedding ceremony.

The young couple, Madelyn Rosely Caracun Perez, and her fiancé, Davilson Gesell Canimac Miranda, 29, were on their motorcycle distributing wedding invitations in Chicacao, a town within Guatemala’s Suchitepequez department, when the accident happened on December 4.

Local authorities report that a mechanical failure caused a transmission component to detach from a nearby truck, hitting the couple’s motorcycle. Perez was thrown off the vehicle and was declared dead at the scene. Her fiancé, Miranda, was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital.

The couple was set to marry on December 14, 2024. In the wake of the tragedy, the couple’s family members gathered at the crash site to honor Perez. They have urged authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident’s underlying circumstances.

Members of the local community have been organizing efforts to support the affected families with the sudden financial challenges.

Local law enforcement has opened an investigation into the mechanical failure of the truck involved in the accident. They are striving to map out the sequence of events that led to the detachment of the component. The identity of the driver and the company operating the truck remain undisclosed.

Meanwhile, Miranda continues to receive medical care under close supervision. His family has requested privacy during this trying time, while they continue to insist on a thorough investigation into the incident.
