Trump’s Wild Response To Swift’s Endorsement

In a recent development, Donald Trump, the former President, showed a preference for Brittany Mahomes over Taylor Swift. His comments were in response to Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris and came during his appearance on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday, September 11.

During the interview, the 78-year-old Trump was questioned about Swift’s recent political expression. He responded by saying, “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan,”

Days later he posted an even stronger message: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Trump went on to elaborate on his admiration for Brittany Mahomes, wife of Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback. He said, “I like Brittany. I think Brittany’s great. She’s a big, she’s a big MAGA fan. Much better than Taylor Swift.”

Trump’s comments followed Brittany Mahomes making the news for liking one of his Instagram posts that delineated his “2024 GOP Platform.” The post reportedly included commitments such as denying men access to women’s sports and slashing federal funds for schools teaching “Critical Race Theory” and “Radical Gender Ideology.”

In response to criticism from Swift’s supporters, Mahomes posted on her Instagram Story. She wrote that detractors must have “deep rooted issues” and that it’s possible to “disagree with someone, and still love them.” She subsequently removed her “like” from Trump’s post and currently does not follow him on Instagram.

Trump further insinuated that Swift’s support for Harris could potentially have adverse financial implications for the singer.

Swift, aged 34, voiced her support for the Vice President on Instagram after a recent debate between Trump and Harris. She wrote, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” She added that Harris was “a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

Swift has a history of endorsing Democratic candidates. In the 2020 elections, she publicly backed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for the positions of president and vice president, respectively. She’s also supported other Democratic candidates in past elections.

J.D. Vance, Trump’s running mate, also commented on Swift’s endorsement, arguing that Americans will not be swayed by a “billionaire celebrity” like Swift who is “disconnected from the interests and the problems of most Americans.”

This situation has sparked speculation about a potential rift between Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift, who have been seen at sports events together and are known to be friends through their relationships with NFL players. However, recent sightings of them together suggest their friendship remains unscathed by the political tension.

Patrick Mahomes, the NFL quarterback, has made it clear that he has no intention of endorsing a presidential candidate this year, preferring to keep his social media platform free from such usage.

As more public figures share their political views, the effect of such endorsements on voter behavior continues to be a subject of debate.
