Reality Star Dies at 46 After Cancer Battle

Ryan Hadley, who gained recognition for his role in Season 6 of “Ink Master,” died on June 20, 2024. The 46-year-old tattoo artist from Indiana lost his brave fight against seminoma cancer. His family announced his death on Instagram, revealing that he passed away.

A renowned figure in the tattoo world, Hadley made a considerable impact with his distinctive realism tattoos. His family, in a social media post, paid tribute to his contribution to the world of art and tattooing. “Ryan passed away last night, surrounded by his loved ones,” the post read. “His life may have been short, but his impact on the art and tattoo communities was significant. He had a deep affection for his fans, friends, clients, and especially his children. His absence will be keenly felt, and his name will live on as a legend in the industry.”

Hadley disclosed his seminoma diagnosis—a type of malignant germ cell tumor usually associated with testicular cancer—in December 2023. Despite an aggressive chemotherapy regimen, the cancer spread to his liver and lungs, making it inoperable.

Throughout his battle with cancer, Hadley kept his followers updated on Instagram, demonstrating his resolve to fight against the illness. “I’m here, and I’m not giving up, not now, not ever. I’m determined to stay on this earth until I’ve ensured my loved ones have a good life before I leave this body,” he stated.

A GoFundMe campaign, organized to aid with Hadley’s medical bills and support his children, documented his struggle with cancer and his commitment to his family during those difficult times. The campaign description read, “Ryan owns a tattoo & art gallery in Indiana and cares for his boys, all under 12. This GoFundMe is to help Ryan pay his bills and provide food for his family while he’s undergoing treatment.” The fundraiser successfully collected over $6,000.

The news of Hadley’s death has deeply saddened the tattoo community, with many sharing their condolences and reminiscing about his contributions to the field. Fellow tattoo artist Durb Morrison said, “We extend our condolences. Ryan was an incredible friend, artist, and father. He will be deeply missed.”

Freddy Negrete, another respected tattoo artist, expressed his sorrow, saying, “This loss is immense for all of us. My sincere condolences.”

Beyond his technical skills as a tattoo artist, Hadley’s dedication to his craft and his resilience in the face of adversity left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

In his final months, he consistently expressed gratitude towards his supporters. “I want to express my gratitude to all my clients, sponsors, friends, and family for 25 amazing years in tattooing,” he wrote on Instagram. Despite a grim outlook, he remained hopeful and concentrated on securing his family’s future.

The death of Ryan Hadley is a significant loss for the tattoo community. However, his influence and legacy will continue to inspire artists and enthusiasts alike.
