New Speculation About Prince Harry Returning to the UK

Hugo Vickers, a prominent royal biographer, has speculated that Prince Harry may potentially relocate permanently to the UK, but without his spouse, Meghan Markle. Co-author of Prince Edward’s memoir “A Royal Life,” Vickers paints Prince Harry as an individual filled with anger and a constant fear of losing his wife.

Vickers has stated that King Charles III would likely support his son’s return. He said, “The King has left the door wide open for him to do that, and he was doing such a good job before and…he looked so happy.”

Since their decision to step down from royal duties in 2020 and move to the United States, Prince Harry and Meghan have only made a handful of trips back to the UK. Their most recent trip together was to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022. Vickers has suggested that Harry’s return would be welcomed, assuming he comes back solo. Vickers said, “If he comes home, we must be very nice to him because he won’t particularly want to,” emphasizing the need for a positive reception for Harry.

Grant Harrold, a former royal butler for King Charles, agreed with Vickers. Harrold believes that Prince Harry, 39, would need to offer a public apology for the hurt caused by his revealing memoir, “Spare,” to be accepted back into the royal family. Harrold said, “The only way I see this happening is a public acknowledgment from Harry, where he says that he’s sorry for the hurt that the book created.”

Jennie Bond, another royal expert, suggested that Prince Harry could eventually be forgiven and welcomed back into the royal family, but this would likely be contingent on a separation from Meghan. “I think that Harry, without Meghan, would be forgiven and welcomed back into the royal fold in the fullness of time,” Bond stated.

On his recent solo trip to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, Prince Harry expressed his desire to meet his father, but their schedules did not permit a meeting. Meghan, 42, who has not been in the UK since the Queen’s funeral, chose to stay in the US with their children during Harry’s visit.

While these predictions point to a possible return, the timing and conditions of such remain uncertain. The ongoing conflict between Prince Harry and the royal family, particularly his brother Prince William, complicates the situation. “Some hurtful remarks were made, and not all families know how to reconcile,” Harrold commented.
