Mike Heslin, recognized for his performances in “Lioness,” and “The Holiday Proposal Plan,” passed away on Tuesday, July 2 at 30 years old due to a sudden cardiac event.
The actor’s spouse, Scotty Dynamo, shared the devastating news on Instagram, paying tribute to Heslin’s dynamic life and altruistic nature.
The unexpected death of Heslin, who was in excellent health, shocked many. After a week in the hospital, medical professionals were unable to identify the cause of the cardiac incident. In a reflective post, Dynamo stated, “Michael was brilliant, selfless, talented, and a real-life guardian angel,” who had supported him during his own cancer struggle.
Dynamo and Heslin, who wed in November 2023, were in the initial stages of family planning. Dynamo expressed his deep sadness and their unfulfilled dreams for their future.
Heslin’s contributions transcended his personal life. He began his acting career in 2014 with the Showtime series “7 Deadly Sins” and went on to build a varied body of work. His most prominent role was in the Paramount+ series “Lioness,” co-starring Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman. Heslin was also the creator, writer, director, and star of the 2020 mockumentary series “The Influencers,” which received a Queerty award nomination.
Demonstrating his selflessness, Heslin chose to be an organ donor, a decision that has already resulted in the saving of four lives. Dynamo stated that this brought him some solace during these difficult times: “It brings me peace to know that, through your wish to be a donor, you have given the gift of life to four different families.”
Following Heslin’s death, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to cover hospital and funeral costs, raising over $58,000. This fundraising effort reflects the respect and affection the community held for Heslin.

The “Lioness” team expressed their grief and condolences to Heslin’s family and friends on social media.
