Melania Trump’s “Deal” With Husband If He Wins

As the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign gains momentum, Melania Trump, the former First Lady, has reached a significant arrangement with her husband, Republican nominee Donald Trump.

According to Page Six, Melania will not undertake the full duties of the First Lady should Trump secure a second term. The agreement is primarily due to Melania’s commitment to support their son, Barron Trump, as he starts college in New York City, New York.

Melania’s decision emphasizes her dedication to being an involved mother to Barron, who recently finished high school and is set to begin college. She plans to spend a portion of each month, possibly every week, in New York City to provide Barron with emotional and physical support.

As Barron is the son of a president, Melania has expressed concerns about the increased attention and potential stress he may encounter. Barron, who has never been entirely independent, will face the challenges of being a college freshman and possibly a president’s son in a city known for its Democratic leanings. Melania’s concerns also extend to the reaction Barron’s Secret Service detail may receive at his school.

Melania has consistently been a protective mother, often shielding Barron from political exposure. During Trump’s first term, Melania maintained a low profile, prioritizing her son’s welfare. Her protective instinct was evident when she declined a proposal for Barron to be a Republican delegate at the 2024 Republican National Convention.

The arrangement also resonates with Melania’s desire to maintain a sense of normalcy for Barron amidst the tumult of political life.

Donald Trump has reportedly consented to this arrangement, acknowledging the significance of Melania’s role in Barron’s life. The agreement strikes a balance between Melania’s motherly responsibilities and her duties as First Lady, a balance similar to how Trump relied on his first wife, Ivana Trump, to raise their children.

Melania’s minimal involvement in her husband’s campaign has led to various interpretations. Some view it as a strategic move, while others see it as her preference for privacy. Stephanie Grisham, a former aide, claims that Melania devoted her tenure to curating detailed photo albums of her time in the White House.

As the election approaches, Donald Trump and his Democratic adversary, President Joe Biden, are running neck and neck. The November 5 vote will decide whether the Trumps return to the White House. However, if Donald Trump wins, Melania’s part-time First Lady role will deviate from the traditional expectations.

Melania’s tenure as First Lady was a blend of traditional and unconventional roles. Despite facing criticism for her anti-bullying cause in the face of her husband’s controversial reputation, Melania has shown a commitment to balancing her ceremonial role with her motherly duties.

Besides focusing on Barron’s college life, Melania has also been noticeably absent from public view amidst Donald Trump’s ongoing legal issues. She has created a protective bubble around her family, emphasizing privacy and protection for Barron. Melania reportedly disapproved of Donald Trump using Barron’s graduation as an opportunity to voice grievances about the judge in his hush money trial.
