Pop singer Jennifer Lopez, 54, is facing new allegations of diva-like conduct, amidst turbulence in both her personal and professional life. Reports indicate that the performer has a unique rule enforced amongst her staff and limo drivers: avoid making eye contact with her.
According to sources, Lopez insists that all her crew members, including backstage workers and limo drivers, adhere to this rule. A backstage worker at one of Lopez’s concerts shared, “All of the workers were strictly instructed: DO. NOT. LOOK. AT. MS. LOPEZ. There’s to be NO. EYE. CONTACT.” Another person corroborated this statement, claiming that employees at Mohegan Sun Casino were given the same orders.
Even Lopez’s limo drivers reportedly adhere to this rule. An anonymous source stated, “Her limo drivers were instructed the same, they couldn’t even look at her in their rearview mirrors.” The restriction on eye contact extends beyond concert venues and is enforced at locations where Lopez is shooting commercials and music videos. A staff member at a ski resort in California was reportedly told to avoid eye contact while Lopez filmed a car commercial there.
Lopez’s reputation for high demands is not recent news. Meghan McCain, a media personality, described Lopez as a “deeply unpleasant person” on her podcast, Citizen McCain. McCain remembered an incident from 2019 when Lopez visited The View with a large entourage, which she described as “larger than the President’s.” McCain contrasted this with other celebrities who have been on the show, stating that Lopez’s demands and entourage were excessive.
A podcast host known as LABellatini added to the narrative by sharing a story on TikTok about Lopez halting a production to dismiss an audio technician who made eye contact with her. LABellatini added, “I have 15 more stories like this.”
These latest allegations come at a challenging time for Lopez, who recently cancelled her upcoming tour and is rumored to be facing marital issues with her husband, Ben Affleck. The new reports of her stringent demands could further complicate her efforts to preserve her public image amidst increasing criticism.
