Missing Surfers Found Dead

Brothers Callum and Jake Robinson, along with their friend Jack Carter Rhoad, embarked on a trip to Baja California, Mexico, after attending the Coachella music festival. They were reported missing when they failed to check into their Airbnb rental in Rosarito.

The bodies of the three men were subsequently found by Mexican law enforcement at the bottom of a 50-foot deep well in a remote area, all suffering from gunshot wounds. It is speculated that they fell victim to a carjacking that escalated into a fatal assault. In relation to the case, a local man, his girlfriend, and his brother have been apprehended.

The arrested individuals were found with methamphetamine, and a cellphone belonging to one of the victims was recovered from one suspect. It has been suggested that the victims were camping in La Bocana, a well-known surfing spot approximately 130 miles south of San Diego, California.

Authorities’ findings suggest that the victims tried to fight off the robbery, a move that likely resulted in their untimely demise. Nearby, investigators found discarded tents and a charred white pickup truck similar to the one owned by the victims.

Various sources have acknowledged the bodies as Australians Callum Robinson, 33, a former lacrosse player, his 30-year-old brother Jake, who was set to start a new job in Australia, and American Jack Carter Rhoad, 30.

The ongoing investigation involves local authorities and international entities, including the FBI. Another body pulled from the well is suspected to be a rancher who had been reported missing prior to this incident.

The tragic deaths of the three friends have left their families grieving, with global tributes pouring in. The case has captured the attention of the surfing community and officials from the United States and Australia. This incident underscores the possible dangers of international travel.
