A Norwegian man, residing in Arjang, Sweden, was recently found guilty of keeping his wife’s deceased body in a freezer. The primary motive behind this act was to continue claiming her pension funds by creating the impression that she was still alive.
The individual, a 57-year-old man whose name remains confidential, concealed his 60-year-old wife’s body at their residence. Records indicate that she passed away in 2018 due to cancer, and her body was kept hidden for five consecutive years.
The exact methods employed by the man to conceal this grim reality remain a mystery, as does the means by which law enforcement made the discovery. Notably, her family members had reached out with concerns about her well-being. Each time, the man devised reasons to prevent them from finding out the truth about her demise.
Financial records showed that the husband continued to receive his late wife’s pension and tax rebates. These amounts accumulated to roughly $116,000.
Upon deliberation, the court ruled a 3.5-year prison term for the man. In addition, he was mandated to return the funds he had unjustly obtained from her pension.
