According to Newsweek, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s health has been a scrutinized topic of the intelligence community and is a big concern for the Biden administration and the world. A classified US report allegedly indicated that Putin had received treatment in April for advanced cancer. According to reportedly leaked Kremlin emails, Putin may possibly have pancreatic or stomach cancer.
Although the intelligence information has not been verified, the media continues to raise the question and intelligence officials continue to seek sources of information that can confirm the true picture about Putin’s health.
According to the anti-Kremlin Telegram channel “General SVR,” which is allegedly managed by a former Russian spy and reportedly has links to Putin’s security team, President Vladimir Putin, 70 years old, lost his balance and soiled himself at his official house in Moscow on Wednesday night. According to the channel, the Russian president fell five steps before landing on his tailbone. The accident is Putin’s most recent health concern given that his alleged cancer and Parkinson’s disease illnesses are reportedly becoming worse.
General SVR said that three bodyguards assisted the president in finding the closest couch while calling for nearby medical personnel. Nothing serious was found. The president can move about independently and only experiences discomfort in his coccyx while he is seated. According to the post, a special inquiry is underway to find out what led to the president’s fall.
The infamous Russian leader wears slip-resistant footwear, and the stairs in the official home have been considered safe. The message ended, “As it turns out, all precautions could be in vain when the nerves are shot.”
Rumor or truth?
Less than a day later, Putin was photographed exploring a laboratory in Moscow, and had appeared to suffer no serious aftermath to the fall.
Since the start of the conflict with Ukraine in February 2022, there have been several rumors concerning Putin’s alleged health issues. He has occasionally come across as clumsy and shaky in public. In October, Kyiv Post journalist Jason Jay Smart tweeted screenshots of Putin greeting soldiers at a boot camp in the Ryazan region, prompting speculation that the president had IV tracks on his hands.
During a meeting with Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus a few weeks prior, General SVR criticized Putin’s flimsy position. According to the channel, Putin’s oncology treatment is progressing although the pain is not always alleviated despite therapy. The president’s poor physical and mental health can be impacting how important decisions are made. Some speculate that Putin wants to end history, not modify it.
