Angry Wisconsin Man Attacks Soon-To-Be Ex’s Family Near Chicago

Wisconsin man going through a divorce decided to get revenge on his in-laws living in Illinois. He went to their house, armed with a rife and a knife on December 1.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office released a statement that on December 1 at around 6:40 pm, a 68-year-old man and his 66-year-old wife were sitting in their living room in the neighborhood of Crete, 37 miles south of Chicago, when their son-in-law, 36-year-old Michael Liu, opened fire on the couple from outside the house. The statement stated that Liu missed hitting the couple but was determined to continue. He had traveled more than 100 miles from his home in Oak Creek, Wisconsin to get revenge on his wife’s parents.

He broke through a sliding glass door and entered the home, continuing to fire his gun. Police said his pistol jammed, so he stabbed his mother-in-law with a knife until he was stopped by his father-in-law. According to the sheriff’s office, as he and his father-in-law fought over the knife, Liu tried to stab him, but the older man yanked the knife from Liu’s hands and stabbed him 17 times.

When deputies arrived at the gruesome scene in response to a 911 call, the scene was bloody and it looked like no one would survive. However, all three were treated in hospitals and eventually recovered.

According to the sheriff’s office, Liu had been found guilty of domestic violence previously, in July. He was arrested for attempted murder and home invasion.
